Hunt's, who recently had the great $499 deal on their site for the K-30 is now offering the K-500 for $459 with an additional $100 mail in rebate, for a final cost of $359.95.
I personally just ordered a K-30 or I would have absolutely JUMPED on this deal.
The K-500 is a entry-level configuration of the k-50 (K-30 successor). The differences I found online are that it lacks weather sealing, and the rechargeable lithium ion battery (you'll have to buy separately), and does not have AF points in the viewfinder. Otherwise performance is almost exactly like the k-50, which to be honest isn't that much better than the K30 if you exclude a higher ISO capability, which doesn't really matter since you normally wouldn't need to go that high.
Pentax is known for their WR even on the entry levels, so if that's a problem, skip, otherwise, the K-500 at this price, IMO, is unbelievable.
