In the mood for a little fishing? WalMart has these Zebco Dock Demon Rod and Reel combos for either $8 for the spincast or $9.96 for the spinning combo. The reviews state that they are really good for the money and that the rod is fiberglass, not plastic, and that it will bend properly to keep from popping when you want to catch a panfish (or maybe even a little bigger fish!).
Looks like a great rig to take with you backpacking or on a light camping trip. The reels might not be incredibly good, but for the money I don't think you can beat this deal. This set would be a lot nicer than the cheapo kids' rigs they sell.
